How much Hotmix Asphalt is required for your project is quite easy to calculate, you just need to do some simple multiplication.

Estimate the volume of asphalt needed

You have to multiply the length, width and thickness/depth values ​​of your project.

Estimate the weight of asphalt

Estimate the density of the hotmix asphalt to be used. Standard density for asphalt is 145 lb/ft³ (2322 kg/m³).  Multiply the volume by the density (in the same units) to get the weight.

Here is formula:

Estimate the cost of asphalt

To calculate the cost of asphalt based on its weight, you need to multiply by cost per unit by total weight.

Use the formula:

$\text{Total cost}=\text{Weight}\times \text{Cost}$

Example Calculation

Let’s say you have 10 tons of asphalt, and the cost is $80 per ton.

$\text{Total Cost}=10\text{ tons}\times \text{\$80 Per tone}$

$\text{Total Cost}=\text{\$800}$

Several measurement units are compatible for calculations, including inches, feet, yards, meters, and centimeters.
