Volume of the Brick:

To calculate the volume of the brick, multiply the length, width, and thickness (height) of the brick.

Volume of Brick=Length×Width×Thickness\text{Volume of Brick} = \text{Length} \times \text{Width} \times \text{Thickness}

Be sure to use the same units for all dimensions (e.g., meters or centimeters).

Brick Weight:

Once you have the volume of the brick and the density of the material, the weight can be calculated by multiplying these two values.

Example Calculation

Let’s go through an example. Suppose you have a brick with the following dimensions:

  • Length: 20 cm
  • Width: 10 cm
  • Thickness: 6 cm

And you are using a clay brick with a density of 1920 kg/m³.

Convert dimensions to meters

Length = 0.20 m,Width = 0.10m,Thickness = 0.06 m

Calculate the volume

Volume of Brick = 0.20×0.10×0.06

Volume of Brick = 0.0012 m³

Calculate the weight

Brick Weight = 0.0012 m³×1920 kg/m³

Brick Weight = 2.304 kg

Thus, the weight of the brick is approximately 2.3 kg.
