Easily estimate the cost of your granite slab or countertop based on its length, width, thickness, and price per square foot.
Granite is a popular material for countertops, flooring, tiles, and other construction purposes due to its durability and aesthetics. If you're planning to buy granite slabs or tiles, it’s essential to estimate the total cost based on the size, thickness, and price per square foot.
This Granite Cost Calculator helps you calculate:
- Total Area in square feet (ft²)
- Adjusted price based on thickness
- Total Granite Cost
Granite Cost Calculator Formula
1. Area (in square feet)
We first calculate the area of the granite slab.
Area=Length (in feet)×Width (in feet)
2. Adjusted Price Based on Thickness
Since the price you enter is based on 1-inch thickness, we multiply it with the actual thickness in inches to get the adjusted price.
Adjusted Price=Base Price×(1Thickness (in inches))
3. Total Granite Cost
Now that we have the area and the adjusted price per square foot, we multiply them to get the total cost.
Total Cost=Area×Adjusted Price
Example Calculation
Let’s say:
- Length = 8 feet
- Width = 3 feet
- Thickness = 2 inches
- Base Price = $50 per sq.ft (for 1" thickness)
Step 1: Calculate Area
Area=8×3=24 ft2
Step 2: Adjust Price for 2" Thickness
Adjusted Price=50×(12)=100 per ft2
Step 3: Calculate Total Cost
Total Cost=24×100=$2400
✅ Final Result:
- Area: 24 ft²
- Adjusted Price: $100/ft²
- Total Cost: $2400
